Famous Architect’s building

Individually, student need to choose an ‘interesting’ building designed by one of the architects given in the list. From here, the student needs to identify five (5) architectural building materials and two (2) structural building materials based on the chosen building. Students are also to study on the ideas and concept behind the selection of the material and of the building. Additionally, students need to describe the installation of one (1) of the materials applied on the selected building. Building’s selection can be from any time or age.

 

The compilation of the findings needs to be nicely composed in ONE (1) A2 size board that include the following information:

1. A brief background of the architect.

2. Historical background of the chosen building.

3. Clear images and information (properties, location, application, material selection in relation to ideas & concept) of the FIVE (5) architectural building materials and TWO (2) structural building materials respectively.

4. Sketches of one (1) material’s installation on the selected building.

5. Relevant images of the chosen building (floor layout, elevations, three-dimensional perspective etc.).

6. Overall conclusion on the choice and application of materials on the chosen building.
